Spotify launches “Generación Futuro”, its new podcast that makes visible the concerns of young people in Spain

85% of young people do not feel represented by the Spanish political class and 53% affirm that they would get involved to contribute to the social transformation that Spain needs. These are the data revealed by the survey ‘The Future is Now’, the largest survey carried out on youth and led by the company PlayGround. Under this premise, Spotifythe audio company in streaming largest in the world, opens today Future Generationhis new podcast original driven by isaac Marcetdirector of PlayGroundwhich has the objective of being a bridge so that the issues that concern young people reach the Government of Spain directly.

Among those issues that concern generation Z and millennial, are democratic sustainability, mental health, digital transformation, job insecurity, access to housing, education and the climate crisis. Topics that “Generación Futuro” will cover throughout its 8 double episodes, which will premiere on Tuesdays and Thursdays of each week. In addition, throughout its chapters, users will be able to listen to special guests to cover each topic. Among them are well-known politicians, such as Exist Colau (Mayor of Barcelona), Íñigo Errejon (spokesperson for Más País in the Congress of Deputies), Nadia Calvin (First Vice President and Minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation) or Yolanda Diaz (Minister of Labor); association leaders, such as Eva Saldana (director of Greenpeace) and Roman Reyes (actor and spokesperson for the Stop Suicides Platform), as well as young activists, content creators, thinkers, journalists and artists.

Is our democracy in danger?

The first chapter, “Democratic Sustainability”is available now starting today and addresses the following issues: “Is our democracy in danger? Is banning speeches a solution or does it weaken democracy?” To answer these questions, Meritxell Batet, President of the Congress of Deputies, talks with Shalini Arias (social activist and communication director of Ashoka) e Isaac Marcet (director of PlayGround).
