On Monday, June 29, the Tulln sports secondary school had to be closed in accordance with the Epidemic Act. “Unfortunately, this year’s school year cannot end as we all would have liked after the difficult time,” says a letter from director Georg Förstel to the parents or legal guardians. “A person who was in contact with almost all school students” was tested positive for Covid-19.
Förstel emphasizes that the sports MS teaching team will try to support the children in the last school week via distance learning. Further information, school achievement confirmations and certificates will follow electronically. The headmaster also appeals to the parents to talk to their children about the difficult situation and to contact the health counseling at 1450 immediately if they experience symptoms.
Contact tracing is in full swing
“I am very sorry that the Tulln sports secondary school has to be closed for the time being,” emphasizes district governor Andreas Riemer, “we had just gotten a grip on it and last week we finally got to zero people with Covid-19 in the district. “
When he was informed of the case by the state medical staff, the head of the authorities immediately called the crisis team, which had already been dissolved. “So far we only know about this one case, we are now intensely busy informing everyone – contact tracing is in full swing,” says Riemer.
All students and teachers in quarantine
