Sportive shoot. The cadets of the Rennes garrison crowned champions of France. Sport

The sports shooting section of the Garrison of Rennes took part, from February 14 to 19, 2022, in French sports shooting championships, in Besançon (Doubs). Fifteen young cadets and juniors and thirteen adults were qualified.

Three team podiums for cadets

“Matheo Chemin, Yanis Benaîcha and Tomas Michaud won gold, in teams, in the speed pistol discipline. Mathéo thus confirms his predilection for this discipline,” explains Garrison coaches Pascal Kerlau and Jean-François Bertrand. Young resident of Saint-Jacques-de-la-Lande (Ille-et-Vilaine), Mathéo Chemin was already a silver medalist in 2019, in Marseille. This medal is in addition to the two other bronze medals acquired in standard speed pistol and five target speed pistol during this great week for our club.

Cadets and cadets were particularly expected in these disciplines of precision and speed. With three podiums per team, the cadets of the Garrison have been rewarded for their regular and serious training since the post-Covid recovery.

Confirmation for Gwendoline Barbe

“Gwendoline once again takes the silver medal in the 18m field crossbow, says Pascal Kerlau. Already medalist in Lorient in 2019, and in Niort in 2020, she confirms her mastery of this discipline. »

Anya Saulnier also achieves a very good performance in precision pistol. Second before the final (with a score of 543 out of 600), she finally finished in eighth place. Already champion of France in 2019, in Marseille, she confirms despite everything that she will have to be reckoned with for the next deadlines.

The icing on the cake, Yanis Benaïcha validates his blue target given to him by Jean Quiquampoix, Olympic champion (25m speed pistol) in Tokyo in 2020.

With a strong school of sixty-five young people, the volunteers of the Garrison demonstrate their full potential despite the difficulties encountered for eighteen months between the Covid and the various moves of the structure between the Foch, Du Guesclin and Marguerite districts.
