Have not decided
Geography is one of the arguments Kinn municipality highlighted when they sent the ministry an application to work out a division. The structure is not considered optimal for the future, with different cultures and disagreements about important issues.
There are also long travel distances. It takes about two hours by car between the administration centers Måløy and Florø.
– I think everyone who has looked at the geography, sees that it is a somewhat whimsical construction, says Gjelsvik.
The local politicians hope that a report will provide answers to the municipality’s future. The division question will only be decided after the hearing. Nor has the ministry concluded.
– It is important to get progress in the process. What is important is that the state administrator over Easter is given the task of starting the assessment work and has a dialogue with the municipality in the further process, says Gjelsvik.
