The head of the National Revenue Agency (NRA) Rumen Spetsov announced that for several months an inspection of a large Russian oil company operating in Bulgaria has been underway, which has reported losses in the last 10 years, although it is one of the largest on the market. the country. He clarifies that there are a bunch of other companies around it, including Bulgarian ones, which work in such a way that the profits end up in Switzerland or offshore companies.

Specov’s speech is in front of the Romanian newspaper Freedom. He is visiting Romania, and before the publication he emphasizes that the Russian company also works on the local market. However, he refuses to give her name.

Most likely, the head of the National Revenue Agency is targeting Lukoil. In the middle of the year, Asen Vassilev, who was still acting finance minister at the time, announced in an interview with Dnevnik that Lukoil Neftochim Burgas has started paying profit tax. He added that the company is always at a loss, which is why it does not pay taxes in Bulgaria.

Spetsov also says that with its work, the tax service has managed to contribute 1 billion euros more money to the budget for the first 6 months of this year. Compared to the same period in 2020, this was 20% more.

The head of the National Revenue Agency added that none of the “We continue the change” has entered politics to make money. He cites the co-chairs of the political force, Asen Vassilev and Kiril Pekov, as examples, who “have successful businesses and are millionaires”.
