Pauls Timrots has entrusted the management of the field show to the motorist and producer of the creative association “Spiediens” Krišjānis Cauns, who is going to the first stage of this year’s Latvian Cup mini-rally in Rauna.
After a long break, 140 crews gathered there – 280 pilots and co-pilots, as well as their supporters. The mini-rally is an opportunity to try your hand at motorsport – there are sports and street cars in the competition, as well as beginner or rookie classes, Eduards Kalve, head of the LAF SAK council, knows. Therefore, a mini-rally can be the first step for a rider on the way to the big rally. Among the participants of the Rauna stage is the titled motorist Māris Neikšāns, who is ready to start the new season with great vigor and considers the mini-rally to be a good event to move and test the car.
Despite the considerable experience, Māris admits that the stress before the start is great. Andris Kulbergs, an office worker and amateur pilot, also agrees with him, and the mini-rally has the opportunity to catch a dose of adrenaline. Both riders are ready to take on the CHALLENGE of SPEED – to measure their heart rate before the start and at full speed to compare the stress level of a physically trained athlete and an office worker.
Andris Mālnieks, one of Latvia’s most experienced coxswains, will tell Krišjānis how the helmsman’s work is going. Minirally participants can use transcripts created by the organizers or prepared by them with their own markings and gradations. Andris’ crew uses his transcript, which he will read to Krišjānis and the audience. There will also be an opportunity to find out what motivates riders and riders to participate in the mini-rally, what costs should be taken into account and how the judges work.
