In the first three months of 2020, 636 people with HIV infection were identified in Bashkiria. The Republican Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS and Infectious Diseases named the most common ways of transmitting infection.
As expected, most are infected through sexual contact – 239 people, or 85.97%. 36 patients (12.95%) received HIV through the parenteral route, and another three people (1.08%) – vertical.
In 278 cases, it was not possible to determine the transmission path.
