Spanish-Paraguayan Theater Festival in Asunción | News

The Hispano-Paraguayan Theater Festival started on Thursday in Asunción, the capital of Paraguay, with the staging of famous characters from Hispanoamerica’s dramatic art.

On this occasion the event reaches its tenth edition and is dedicated to the Spanish playwright Fernando Arrabal, winner of the National Theater Prize in 2001.

To inaugurate the appointment, the work Residenti was selected because it is the result of two female artistic residences, coordinated by the company Somatic Front.



The program of the event includes the performance of the piece Yerma, by the Spanish Federico García Lorca, of the Rara Avis Teatro group.

Similarly, the company Pire Pora will propose the installation of The architect and the emperor of Assyria, by Fernando Arrabal.

The days of the event will also include workshops related to the work of Arrabal, in addition to the theoretical meeting Imagomundi and Ecosomatic Exploration.

The Hispanic-Paraguayan Theater Festival will run until December 3 and will include the Juan de Salazar Spanish Cultural Center among its venues.
