ADMISSION PROCEDURE
We understand that the high school application process can be intimidating. Deciding where to attend high school is an important decision families face every year. Cristo Rey New York Admissions Department is here to serve interested families and students. We answer your questions, offer school visits and advise you in making this decision.
Our dedicated admissions team is here to help you and your family with our application process and we look forward to meeting you and your family in the coming months. Please take a moment to read the requirements and admission procedure below.
requirements: Are you eligible to apply?
Age: Students must be 14 years old by 1 September 2023
Financial: Cristo Rey New York High School only serves students who want preparatory college education but cannot afford to attend a private high school. Demonstrated financial need is a requirement for admission and is assessed on a case-by-case basis through the financial aid process. See detailed information in our Financial Data Sheet
academics: Students must have at least average grades and attendance and be willing to work hard to meet the centre’s high academic expectations and employment obligations.
Employability: Students must possess the maturity and work ethic required to successfully work with adults in an office environment. All students must be authorized to work in the United States on the first day of the work-study program.
STEPS
STEP 1: COLLECT THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS
Collect all documents listed in the document checklist. These documents must be attached to the application at the time of completion.
STEP 2: COMPLETE THE ONLINE APPLICATION

Upload all required documents

Click Submit. Please note that your application will not be considered complete until the application, application for financial aid and all documents are complete.
STEP 3: SEND THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE PRINCIPAL AND TEACHER (NOW TO BE COMPLETED ONLINE)

After submitting your application, you will send a “Request for Recommendation” to the student’s principal / advisor, English, math, science or social studies teacher. Recommendation forms are completed online. Make sure you are using the same username you used for your application.

Make sure you have the name and email address of the principal / counselor, English, math, science or social studies teacher, as you will be prompted for this information to request recommendation forms.

STEP 6: HIRING INTERVIEW
We are very excited that you are considering Cristo Rey New York High School. Before starting your application, please review our eligibility requirements. We accept students on an ongoing basis until our class is full.
