Spanish Football Federation To Ask LaLiga Format To Be Changed

Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) will ask LaLiga to change the format. This change is expected to make the schedule looser.

LaLiga currently has 20 teams. The competition usually starts in August and ends in May. Well, the RFEF sees the need for a change to the current format.

RFEF President Luis Rubiales want LaLiga host fewer matches. This will undoubtedly make the condition of the players better and the risks of injury reduced.

Currently among Europe’s top five leagues, only the Bundesliga (German League) has 18 teams and plays fewer matches. In addition, Rubiales suggested that a number of matches be held abroad.
