“Spain breaks hottest April record while Finnmark experiences second warmest day in history”

It is rare that heat records are singled out as the common denominator for Spain and Finnmark.

On Thursday 27 April, however, measurements from both places entered the history books.

However, Spain is more than twice as hot as Finnmark with a measurement of 38.7 degrees at the airport in Córboda – and with that the hottest April measurement ever. This is reported by the British Meteorological Institute, Met.

In Nuvsvåg in Finnmark, the thermometer showed 16.3 degrees and with it entered the history books as the second warmest day so early in the year in Finnmark, according to iFinnmark.

Meteorologist on duty Dina Stabel says that the hot weather in Spain will probably continue for a while, and that several holiday favorites will have the highest temperatures during the weekend.

– Saturday seems to be the hottest day in several places in the south of Spain, says Stabel to Dagbladet.

Both in the holiday favorite Málaga and Alicante it will most likely be well over 30 degrees on Saturday.

The message to Norwegians, on the other hand, is of the discouraging kind – unless they are in Spain, of course.

– Can Norwegians expect that some of the Spanish heat will move over here?

– No, it doesn’t look like we will get that much of the heat here, unfortunately.

Also in the north of the country, where it has been mild today, temperatures will now drop.

– Today it may have been cool all over the country, with the exception of the north, but now the temperatures there will also drop, says the meteorologist.
