SpaceX Dragon Cargo Launch to Space Station Delayed

Suara.com – SpaceX plans to launch the Dragon cargo spacecraft into orbiting laboratories Saturday morning (08/28/2021) with 4,800 pounds (2,200 kilograms) of supplies for Expedition 65’s crew.

However, nature said otherwise and a storm near the launch site caused SpaceX to delay launch by about 24 hours Space.com, Sunday (29/8/2021).

“The weather wasn’t in our favor today. The vehicles, both Dragon and Falcon, remain healthy,” SpaceX production supervisor Andy Tran said during a live webcast of Saturday’s launch effort.

SpaceX and NASA canceled the launch just minutes before the Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Dragon cargo plane was scheduled to lift off from NASA’s historic 39A Launch Complex at Kennedy Space Center in Florida, at 3:37 am EDT (0737 GMT), Saturday local time.

“We opened the show with a situation that left us with a 60 percent chance of breaking the cumulus cloud rule, but since our show started we’ve had a few other issues crop up,” Santora said.

“We are also tracking the grounding cloud rule and the attached surface electric field rule,” he added.

The next launch opportunity for the Dragon cargo launch is Sunday at 3:14 am EDT (0714 GMT) local time.
