The group includes NASA astronaut Yasmine Mokbeli, European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut Andreas Mogensen, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) astronaut Satoshi Furukawa, and Konstantin Borisov of the Russian space agency Roscosmos.
Moqbali and Borisov make their first flight, which will make Moqbali the second Iranian-American in space after the first female space tourist, Anousheh Ansari. (Ansari visited the ISS himself in 2006.) Mogensen and Furukawa have each been in space once, and they have also lived on the ISS.
