Space station ISS will be visible in good weather in the near future

Sun 21 March 2021 12.15 pm

LEEUWARDEN – This week the ‘International Space Station’ (ISS) will be visible several times in clear weather. The ISS looks like a fast-moving star from Earth. The International Space Station is visible when sunlight reflects in the dark. Next Wednesday and Thursday, the orbit of the ISS will be the most favorable and the ISS could be visible twice a night. “It is far from certain that we will get to see the space station, because cloud fields are also expected.” according to Weeronline.nl

The ISS orbits the Earth and takes about an hour and a half per round. The exact trajectory and time of tracing differs from time to time. Monday through Saturday the ISS can show itself at least once between half past eight and ten o’clock. Wednesday and Friday, the space station can be visible twice a night, once just after half past seven and then again just after nine o’clock. The light is most visible when the ISS is high in the southern sky.
