How to prepare a bed for sowing

Be sure to loosen the soil well before planting. It is advised to sow carrots in a roller in rows with a distance of at least 10 cm from each other. But their depth should be about 3 cm. Before throwing seeds into the ground, water it well.

Watering is a very important step, because it helps to compact the soil so that the carrot seeds do not fall to a great depth.

How to sow carrots in May

Carrots can be sown in any density across the entire width of the formed row. Then sprinkled with earth. Immediately after sowing the seeds, water with a watering can with a diffuser. Then the expert recommends covering each row with boards so that they lie on the ground as tightly as possible and close the row.

The gardener noted that this life hack will help keep the soil loose and moist until the carrot shoots. The sun will heat the board, which will give off some of the heat to the earth. Therefore, conditions similar to a greenhouse will be created under it.

Instead of boards, you can use slate. But the film or metal is not suitable for this purpose.

As soon as you see that the first sprouts have appeared, the boards must be removed from the beds. The expert says that thanks to this method, the seeds germinate very quickly.
