Source De Tweemaster corona outbreak not yet found

The source of the corona outbreak at nursing home De Tweemaster in Maassluis has not yet been found.

This is reported by the Argos Care Group, which includes the home. The source and contact investigation by the GGD has not yet been fully completed, but it is already clear that the source of the outbreak in De Tweemaster cannot yet be determined with certainty. “It seems logical that the virus was brought in from the outside and this could have happened in several ways, such as visiting, a volunteer or an employee,” said an Argos spokesperson.

In addition, a further three employees were diagnosed with corona. This brings the total to 32 infected persons, including 17 residents and 15 employees. Two clients died in the past week. This number has remained the same.

There is also hope for the employees and residents of De Tweemaster, because the majority of the nursing home, including the daytime activities, can be visited again on Tuesday 7 July. Three departments where either corona has been detected among residents or an employee will remain in quarantine for the time being and will therefore be closed. These three residential care groups are expected to open again on Monday 13 July. The prerequisite for the opening is that no new positive test results are received.
