Sony Steps in to Defend The Last of Us Against Plagiarism in The Last Hope: Dead Zone Survival

At the beginning of July, we presented a terrifying plagiarism of The Last of Us, which was parasitizing not only on the name of the game itself. The strange venture The Last Hope: Dead Zone Survival was released on June 30 on the Nintendo Switch, and the quality was definitely out of the question, although the words of the developers were understandably different and much more positive. Joel became a soldier and father named Brian Lee, but he was sent to the future to save the world. He is then joined by a girl who bears a striking resemblance to Ellie, but don’t worry, her name is Eva. The players were definitely interested in this work, but rather as a target of ridicule. However, Sony seems to be not amused, and therefore decided to step in and defend The Last of Us.

The game was available digitally on the Nintendo eShop, where it was discounted for 25 crowns in the first days, after the discount the official price was 230 crowns. Although 25 crowns doesn’t sound like much, the question is, of course, whether it even makes sense to fill the Switch’s memory with something like that. The Moldovan studio VG Games, which is behind the game, also has other similar projects to its credit, such as GTA, Silent Hill and many others, so there can be no question of a big coincidence. Currently already the game or its Nintendo eShop page however, you won’t find it, instead you’ll be greeted with a classic 404 error page on the original link. What a shame considering how enticing the game’s description sounded. And also how enticing the screenshots looked, which you can still view in our previous article. Besides, you won’t even look at trailerwhich was also blocked due to a copyright claim by Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC.

However, if you still want to see The Last Hope in action, you can check out Digital Foundry’s review, which definitely didn’t give a good look at this “game”.
