Sony removes third-party PS5 game release windows from CES 2021 trailer

This week, the CES 2021 tech fair took place and during this event Sony held a presentation, which also briefly discussed the PlayStation 5. Sony showed a trailer for the next-gen console and were at the end of that trailer release windows of various upcoming PlayStation 5 games to see. Sony has one of its own a few days later new version of that trailer published, with notable changes.

In the trailer that Sony uploaded, the release windows of all third-party PS5 games that were featured in the original presentation have been removed, it noted. Gematsu on. The new version only shows when Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Horizon: Forbidden West and Returnal should be released. The release windows of Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Solar Ash, Little Devil Inside, Ghostwire: Tokyo, Stray, Project Athia and Pragmata have been removed from the trailer by Sony.

It is unclear why Sony removed the release windows of the third-party games from the trailer. The publishers of the affected games may have requested Sony to do so. After all, the publishers have never confirmed the release windows from the original trailer themselves, which is also striking. The question is of course whether the aforementioned release windows are still correct and were only revealed too early, or whether some titles may be released at a different time. Time will tell.
