Sony keeps a close eye on the reception of the Nintendo Switch OLEDLED

According to an article in The Japan Times, Sony is closely monitoring the reception of the Nintendo Switch OLED. In case you missed it, Nintendo has announced a new version of the Switch that includes an OLED screen. Analysts say it will cost Nintendo only ten dollars extra to make the new version, but the console manufacturer is asking the consumer an extra fifty dollars. That is a considerable profit and Sony has not missed that.

The PlayStation 5 is hard to come by, so why not ask for more money? Scalpers are now taking that profit, while Sony can do it themselves. According to analysts, the new Switch could start a trend of more demand, while consoles are normally cheaper. Now we don’t see that happening soon, however, Sony has recently been making the news more often, such as the PlayStation 5 features of Ghost of Tsushima who are behind a paywall of 10 euros.
