Sony published eagerly awaited details on the improved and expanded PlayStation Now subscription service. We already know the basic information about the individual stages, it doesn’t make sense to start with them, even if Sony repeats all the details again. From our point of view, the most interesting now are the games that users will find in the catalog. Sony writes that it publishes some of the titles of the opening batch.
Update: Sony has just “quietly” updated the list of new PS4 games from third party studios. New among them is Batman from Rocksteady and WB Games, games from the Far Cry series and other titles from Ubisoft.
The original message continues: As part of PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscriptions, players can look forward to about forty first party titles for PS4 and PS5. The offer of third party games is much more modest at the moment. It consists of less than twenty games from companies such as Square Enix, Ubisoft or 2K. Sony naturally warns that the catalog will change and supplement over time.

Classic games within PlayStation Plus Premium will offer a catalog of older titles, some of which will have better framerate and resolution than the originals. Selected games for PS1 and PSP will offer a new menu with the option to save the game at any time or rewind it. Players who have previously purchased digital versions of these titles will have access to them on PS4 and PS5 without having to buy them again or subscribe to PS Plus. As soon as such a game is released on PS4 and PS5, the current owners of the digital version can download it in the PS Store as before. And some of them can be bought separately, says Sony.

PS3 games can be streamed from the cloud to PC, PS4 and PS5 as part of a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription. These are the original non-remastered versions. So far, Sony is attracting about two dozen first party games and less than a dozen third party titles from Capcom, Konami, but also Rockstar.

Finally, time-limited trials of full-featured games for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers. Most titles can play for two hours. When you buy the game, the trophies and save will be transferred to the full version. So far, Sony is only attracting some of the future games included in the trials. These are Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection and Horizon Forbidden West directly from Sony and four games from third party studios. For example, Cyberpunk 2077 was already possible to try on PS5 without PS Plus. Specifically for the trials, there was an unofficial report that PlayStation would ask developers for all more expensive games to trial versions created automatically.

In addition, PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members will have access to games from the new Ubisoft + Classics program. As already mentioned, new games are to be added continuously and the PS Plus catalog will gradually grow. On the contrary, some games may disappear over time, which is especially true for third party titles.
New games for PlayStation Plus Essential always appear on the first Tuesday of the month. They will appear just as subscribers to the current PS Plus know today. New titles for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium will appear in the middle of each month, but their number will vary.
