Sonko’s coalition calls on the state to issue a decree to set the date

The leader of the Jotna coalition and his allies questioned the State on the importance of “adopting a decree fixing the date of the territorial elections (municipal and departmental) in accordance with the constitutional principle of free administration of territorial communities and the provisions of the article L63 of the electoral code “.

According to Sonko and company, “the guilty silence of Macky Sall remains an implicit decision of yet another postponement”, informs ‘Le Quotidien’ taken up by dakaractu. In addition, underlines the same daily newspaper, “this interpellation will simply want to clarify the real position on this question which remains always ambivalent”.

According to the Jotna coalition, the question of democracy, especially with regard to elections, freedoms of demonstration and expression is now on its knees.

Among other topical issues, the Jotna coalition believes that the coronavirus pandemic has “exposed certain inconsistencies and deficiencies” in our health system. This will inevitably prompt a reflection on how to face future crises of this magnitude.
