Son of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro infected with corona Abroad

On Twitter, the 37-year-old parliamentarian questioned the effectiveness of vaccines. “We know that the vaccines have developed faster than normal,” wrote Bolsonaro junior. “I got the first dose of Pfizer’s vaccine and still got Covid.”

Another member of the Brazilian delegation to the UN, Health Minister Marcelo Queiroga, announced on Tuesday that he had been infected with the virus. On Monday, a young diplomat from the same delegation had preceded him. Both were vaccinated against Covid-19.

Father Jair Bolsonaro has not been vaccinated against Covid-19 and has been seen masked several times during his stay in New York because of the UN General Assembly. Since Wednesday, he has been back in Brazil, where he is quarantined at the presidential residence in Brasilia, because he has been in contact with Minister Queiroga. This weekend he will undergo another PCR test. With a negative result, he can resume his normal activities.
