South Korean Star, Son Heung Min admitted that he was amazed by the Vietnam game which had been confirmed to be eliminated from 2023 Asian Cup.
Vietnam was eliminated after losing two of their first two matches in the 2023 Asian Cup. Vietnam lost with a score of 2-4 against Japan and then lost 0-1 against the Indonesian National Team.
With two defeats in hand, Vietnam was certain to be eliminated. Hopes of repeating the achievements in the previous edition of the Asian Cup by qualifying for the knockout phase were dashed.
In the press conference session after the match against Jordan, Son Heung Min received questions from Vietnamese journalists. Son Heung Min also admitted that he watched the Vietnam match and was impressed by the performance of Philippe Troussier’s squad.
“I would like to thank Vietnamese fans for their support of the Korean national team.”
“I saw Vietnam fight. Unfortunately, the results did not match expectations. But I was impressed when I saw Vietnam compete,” said Son Heung Min as quoted by Bongdaplus.
One of the things that impressed Son Heung Min was the fighting power that Vietnam showed when playing in the Asian Cup. Son Heung Min also hopes that Vietnam can get better results in the next match.
“Because they are doing everything possible for the pride of the country. I always support Vietnam. Good luck!” said Son Heung Min.
