Some World of Warcraft players will be prohibited from purchasing WoW Tokens – Gambling

Company Blizzard Entertainment announced about the next innovation, which is designed to preserve the integrity of World of Warcraft and provide a more stable market. With the release of the next update, on November 22, the company is introducing restrictions on the purchase of WoW Tokens.

Players will no longer be able to purchase WoW Tokens from the Auction House or in-game store using gold unless they have spent real world money to purchase and activate at least 30 days of in-game time since 2017 (“Limited Time License”).

This will not affect the use of existing WoW Tokens, but playtime earned on a WoW Token will not count towards eligibility to purchase a WoW Token using gold.

Most likely, this measure is designed to combat bots and gold traders who do not invest real money in the game, instead renewing their subscription using the currency mined in the game. However, if the spending dates are shifted, they may also affect those players who have lost the opportunity to use the store Battle.net and try to continue playing using the tokens.
