The Bavarian Farmers’ Association (BBV), Coburg office, informs forest owners that they can apply for a one-off premium of 100 euros per hectare of forest area. A corresponding directive has been completed by the federal government, according to a press release. The forest premium was launched as part of the Corona economic stimulus package “Forest & Wood”. The funding amount for the forest hectare premium is 500 million euros.
The forest hectare premium can be applied for since November. However, the prerequisite for preservation is that the forests are PEFC or FSC certified. Most forest owners are PEFC-certified through the forest farmers’ associations (WBV). You will receive a corresponding certificate from there in the next few days and can use it to apply for your forest premium. If certification has not yet taken place, this must be done by October 30, 2021 at the latest. The minimum application area is one hectare. The Agricultural Social Insurance (SVLFG) transmits the areas registered with it as the basis for the payment of the forest premium. Forest owners should therefore check their professional association decision whether the data of their forest area noted there is correct.
For the application, an online application must be submitted to the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (www.bundeswaldpraemie.de). You will then receive a confirmation of receipt by email with an application number and a return form. The required copies of the SVLFG notification, certificate, PEFC invoice and membership certificate must be sent by post to the address provided within 14 days of the online application. If the 14 days are not met, the application will be rejected. Payment will be made by the end of 2021 at the latest or as soon as all evidence is available.
