The sale includes the three main production sites supporting the amphoteric product lines in University Park, Illinois (USA), Genthin, Germany, Halifax, UK, and a tolling store in Turkey. The agreement also includes tolling and service agreements between Solvay and OpenGate to ensure a seamless transition and minimal customer disruption.

“This agreement is another critical step in the implementation of our strategic plan as we continue to focus our Home & Personal Care portfolio on growing specialty formulations and customer-specific solutions,” commented Michael Radossich, President of Solvay’s global Novecare business unit.

The chemical company intends to invest the sales proceeds in strategic growth segments. Solvay expects to complete the sale by the end of March.
