She is smiling, lively, sunny. Solène Petit, actress out of promotion 6 ofNorthern School, dramatic school of Theater du Nord in Lille, is involved in many artistic projects. You will be able, in the months to come, to see her on many stages. Meet.
Theater and literature
“Ever since I was little, I wanted to do theater. It’s an idea that has never left me, ”announces from the outset this lover of letters and the stage. She did the Cours Florent, went to the Conservatory, multiplied the training courses where theater and literature meet …
It was after a degree in literature at the Sorbonne that she chose the theater. But still with the text, the handwriting watermark. At the Conservatory of the 19th arrondissement in Paris, she does “really [s]weapons. We were given a lot of autonomy. It was quite a strong experience for me, ”she remembers, moved.
Essential meetings
When she talks about her career, Solène talks about many encounters: those who have taught her a lot, such as Marion Delplancke around stage writing at the Conservatory; those who gave her a chance, such as actor, writer and director Marcus Borja, who hired her as a director’s assistant for a show around Bacchantes, with around thirty actors!
She talks about her many projects with passion. Like the one with Garance Bonotto, Baby Summer, who made a hit. “It’s a project that has grown! Today our group is very close. We still follow each other. “
After Paris comes his discovery of Lille. The integration of the Ecole du Nord, a school of dramatic art in Lille, for which she passes a trying audition, but for which she arrives, force of experience, prepared.
The shock, the doubts, the flight
For Solène, L’Ecole du Nord was a journey full of pitfalls: rich in surprises, not always easy, and above all formative.
“The first year, there are lots of universes that collide. It is a period of doubts, of questioning. For her, finding her place is not always easy. But the internships linked to training confirmed her idea of continuing in the theater.
A graduate, Solène is grateful for the tools she was given during this training. “There is a real wealth, thanks to meetings with speakers from very different universes, with very varied backgrounds”. The one with Guillaume Vincent or with Alain Françon were important for the actress, who now knows how to defend her vision of things.
Choose your path, carry your voice
Solène likes to act, she likes to direct, too. “For me, the actor is a creator. I work a lot on hybrid theater, I like the arts to meet on stage. “
I want to play, but also to write. I don’t like things to be in boxes. I want to participate in great adventures, always to be in research. I define myself as a research actress.
For her, the last year at the Ecole du Nord was essential. “We are separated into half-groups, the cards are redistributed. It reveals other things, ”she explains.
The identity that is being built
Over the course of the projects, Solène has built herself as an artist. She asserted her style. She has made up the avenues on which she wants to continue working.
With Lucas, a fellow student, they are fascinated by the question of identity and how we build ourselves. They work around personal mythology. They exchange ideas, share their inspirations, their influences… For the Journées du matefeuille, they worked together on the creation presented on the Grand’Place in Lille and highlighting the writers Sylvia Plath and Anaïs Nin.
Projects, Solène has several in mind. She thinks of going further in her “travel sketch”, made around food and the female body. This disconnected travel experience at the end of his cycle at the Ecole du Nord has brought him a lot.
In January, she will be on the road with the creation around Marivaux, by Cécile Garcia-Fogel. And other things are emerging, especially in 2023 with Guillaume Vincent. A beautiful journey already for the one who, she realizes, sees beautiful doors open, for the start of her career.
