Socialization Is Extended, KRL Passengers Who Don’t Wear Long-Sleeve Shirts Are Not Yet Sanctioned

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) extended the socialization time regarding the obligations of electric train (KRL) passengers wearing long-sleeved clothing.

PT KCI Vice President Corporate Communication Anne Purba said passengers who did not wear long sleeves could not be penalized.

“The rules for using long-sleeved clothing or jackets are still being extended by considering KRL users still need time to adapt to these rules,” Anne said in a written statement to Kompas.com, Sunday (7/19/2020).

Anne said, the passenger policy is obliged to wear long-sleeved clothes as stated in the Ministry of Transportation Circular No. 14 of 2020 concerning Guidelines and Technical Advisers on Railway Transportation Control in the Period of New Customs Adaptation.

In this regulation, one of the health protocols that KRL passengers must implement is to wear long-sleeved clothing.

“As previously socialized, PT KCI requires all users to wear long-sleeved clothing such as jackets and long-sleeved shirts,” he said.

In addition to wearing long-sleeved clothing, other health protocols that must be implemented, namely the use of masks and measurements of body temperature.

“Users are also advised to use additional personal protective equipment, such as face shields and carry hand sanitizers for personal use as needed,” said Anne.
