Soccer – Leipzig – Leipzig chief scout: India cooperation not just marketing – sport

Leipzig (AP) – Christoph Vivell, technical director of Bundesliga soccer club RB Leipzig, sees sporting aspects in the cooperation with the Indian club FC Goa. “India is a huge country with many inhabitants and if we manage to train well and scout well, I don’t want to rule out the possibility that a talent will come to Leipzig at some point,” said Vivell, who is responsible for globalization and scouting on Friday. “We’ll see what comes out of this. It’s certainly not just a marketing gag.”

The focus of the collaboration is initially on the next generation. “We want to start step by step,” emphasized Vivell. “We want to help each other, we as RB Leipzig can still learn something.” The first soccer camps are to start in January. 20 children each are to be trained by an Indian and a German coach.
