Freiburg (AP) – A farewell to former U21 European champion Janik Haberer from SC Freiburg is apparently getting closer. “The trend is in the direction of change, and there are still enough clubs at home and abroad that are interested in Janik,” said Haberer’s advisor Dietmar Kohli on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old midfielder has not trained with coach Christian Streich’s team for weeks because he is in external rehab due to an ankle injury, according to the club. “In the meantime, calm has returned, Janik has made himself fit and will start team training next week, whether in Freiburg or elsewhere,” said Kohli now.
