So are the Quest Pro, Facebook’s virtual reality glasses that want to pave the way for the metaverse | Technology

If there is a company that has been pushing the world of virtual reality for almost a decade, that is Facebook (now Meta). Mark Zuckerberg’s company wants to conquer the metaverse, and to do so, first of all, you have to fix the ground.

We just saw Meta Quest Pro and not because Facebook introduced them. If not because they appeared on the Internet, posted on Facebook by Ramiro Cárdenasa hitherto unknown user, who claims that the device was left in a hotel room (which are not stolen, come on).

The device shown looks like the Project Cambria helmets that Meta (the new name of Facebook) has been publicly announcing since the end of last year and it looks like the one seen in the leaked installation videos (and here the best VR headsets on the market).

The video shows Cardenas removing the device from the box, revealing a black headset and controller with what appears to be an updated design. While the earbuds have three cameras on the front, the controls feature a design that does away with the classic hollow arc design.

The box features the Meta Quest Pro label printed in the top left corner and graphics showing the VR headset and controls (leaked in a promotional video in October 2021).

Cardenas also provided a close-up of the label affixed to the box, which reads “Not for resale – engineering champion”, saying The border that the person who stayed in the room has already claimed the headphones.

The images and video appeared exactly one month before the Meta Connect event, which will take place on 11 Octoberwhich coincides with the calendar that the CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, has confirmed for the presentation of the company’s next virtual reality headset.

We can’t wait to hear all about Project Cambria / “Quest Pro” and their other plans for metaverse, AR and VR. Cardenas originally shared the images in the comments section of a post on the Oculus Quest 2 Facebook group and claimed that more devices have been left behind.

In the month of July, Bloomberg reported developer Steve Moser found references to “Oculus Pro” in the Meta code, so it’s possible that this is the name Meta chose for the upcoming device.
