Qualcomm is rumored to be launching a Pro version of Snapdragon 888 for smartphones which will be released in Q3 2021.
Snapdragon 888 it hasn’t been even six months since it was launched, but the latest reports show Qualcomm already prepared a more powerful version of the chipset. Referred to as the Snapdragon 888 Pro, this chipset looks like it will support several smartphone flagship which is scheduled to attend this year.
Information obtained from the Digital Chat Station, Snapdragon 888 Pro has been tested by a Chinese cellphone manufacturer. The report posted on Weibo said, smartphone The first chipset supported will launch in Q3 2021.
Compared to Snapdragon 865+, more Chinese local manufacturers are expected to announce smartphone powered by Snapdragon 888 Pro, as reported by Gizmochina (26/4).
Talking about specifications, Snapdragon 888 is equipped with the main core, Cortex-X1. Likewise with the Pro version which is rumored to be bringing the X1 up to speed clock which is higher than its predecessor. Meanwhile, the other core will maintain speed clock-nya.
On the other hand, it is unlikely that the GPU will receive an upgrade because it already has one clock which is quite high. For the rest, there are no surprising specs, or will resemble the Snapdragon 888.
Unfortunately, the heat issue that the Snapdragon 888 has will probably be the main evaluation that Qualcomm will pay close attention to in this Pro version. As known, smartphone the first to use the SD 888 previously claimed to have a very high thermal level in some reviews.
