Snapchat announces Pixy mini drone for photos and videos

pixy is a mini drone released by Snap, the company that owns Snapchat, which basically works like a flying camera assistant. The little drone allows you to take photos and videos in an uncomplicated way, and has a cute yellow design.

Unlike standard drones, Pixy does not have a controller or an SD card. The mini drone has a button to turn the device on and a camera dial to select flight modes.

There are four preset modes, with the user being able to make Pixy float in front of him, orbit around him or follow him as he walks or runs. Just select the desired mode, press the button, and Pixy takes off from your hand. To stop recording, just put your hand under the drone and it automatically lands on your palm.

For specs, Pixy can capture 2.7K video and 12MP photos, but it doesn’t record audio (Snapchat gives you the option to use music licensed by record labels on the platform). The mini drone weighs just 101 grams with the rechargeable battery. According to Snap, a single charge can capture five to eight flights of 10 to 20 seconds.

Videos and photos are automatically transferred to the user’s cell phone and are stored in the user’s memories. Snapchat. Snapchat’s mini drone is available from today in the US and France for $230 (about R$1,135 at current prices) no site Pixy.com.
