This year, the Snap Partner Summit 2020 is purely online and it is through this event that Snap has just announced the news around Snapchat.
Snap Inc. take advantage of a purely online event, the Snap Partner Summit 2020, to announce new experiences around the camera and augmented reality. According to the American firm, there are no less than 170 million of users of Snapchat, or Snapchatters, which interact daily with the augmented reality offered by the application.
Lens Studio and SnapML
Also, Snap has just updated its desktop application, Lens Studio with new features. We start with SnapML which allows you to bring your own machine learning models. We will now be able to create our lenses (Snapchat augmented reality filter) with neural networks. Lens Studio also now offers “Face Landmarks” and “Face Expressions” for better face tracking, better hand gestures and all with an updated user interface to simplify navigation in the tool. Local Lenses
Snap is also launching Local Lenses which allows you to create a world of augmented reality, permanent and shared, built from your neighborhood. This translates into a sharing of a common virtual space between Snapchatters. The Scan function has been revised to integrate more partners like PlantSnap which identifies 90% of all known plants and trees, or Dog Scanner which allows to recognize nearly 400 dog breeds. Available at the end of the year, Nutrition Scanner will assess the quality of the ingredients in many packaged foods. Finally, Snap introduces Voice Scan, which allows users to search for Lenses using voice commands.
Snap Minis
On the developer side, Snap announces new products for developers across ecosystems Snap Kit, Snap games and Bitmoji, already in place. There are already more than 800 applications integrated into Snap Kit and used by nearly 150 million Snapchatteurs. Likewise for the Snap Games, there are more than 100 million Snapchatters who have played a Snap Games game. - Headspace : With Headspace, Snapchatters can relax with meditations and send messages of encouragement to positively stimulate their friends.
- Let’s do it (Snap Inc.): When you have to make a decision with your friends, Let’s Do It helps you make that decision.
- Movie Tickets (Atom): Choose the time of the screening in a nearby cinema, select the seats and pay the tickets individually to attend the film. Stream the latest movie trailers and share them with your friends.
- Prediction Master : From Mammoth Media, Prediction Master answers relevant questions on all subjects, ranging from the stock market to new shoe releases so that Snapchatters can discover who is the real medium among their friends.
- Saturn : This app helps students to share and compare their schedules.
- Tembo : Create files with your friends on Snapchat to review your next exams together.

The Camera kit has been revised to better help developers take advantage from the camera to enhance the application experience. The Dynamic Lenses continue to evolve and makes it easy for any business to create personalized augmented reality experiences for their communities. Bitmoji for Games, as its name suggests, will allow you to use the avatar 3D Bitmoji in games developed by partner studios. And finally, the Snap Games had been introduced as a new way for friends to play games on mobile and suddenly, the Californian company announces a new list of games developed in-house and by new partners like Zynga, PikPok or even Voodoo Games.

Support and well-being
And finally, Snap announces new features around wellbeing for Snapchat users thanks to a new partnership with Headspace, new tools to support friends and new Snap Originals content. Headspace Mini will allow Snapchatters to access guided meditations and mindfulness practices, all with friends or not. In support, Snap is implementing new built-in tools that allow Snapchatters to alert the platform when they are concerned that one of their friends may endanger their own existence. This friend will be put in touch with the emergency services. In the same genre, Friend Check-Up invites Snapchatters to review their friends list and make sure they are only connected with people they know and trust in real life.
