SMIC and precariousness premium

In the field of labor law, 2 events mark this January 1, 2021. the revaluation of the minimum wage and the establishment of a precariousness bonus for civil service contract workers.

Revaluation of the minimum wage on January 1, 2021

The minimum wage will be increased by 0.99%, i.e. an hourly minimum wage of € 10.25 compared to € 10.15 since January 1, 2020.

On the basis of 35 hours per week the monthly minimum wage will be € 1,554.58.

As a reminder, every January 1st, the minimum wage is revalued taking into account the inflation measured for the 20% of households with the lowest incomes.

This revaluation is made on the basis of half of the purchasing power good of the average wage of workers and employees.

Precariousness premium for public service contract workers

The second event concerns the civil service with the introduction of a precariousness bonus or end-of-contract indemnities for contractual agents.

In force for many years for temporary workers and employees in the private sector on fixed-term contracts, this system will now concern contract workers in the state civil service and in the territorial and hospital public services.

The precariousness bonus will correspond to 10% of the gross total remuneration received during the term of the contract and is paid in the month following the end of the employment contract.
