Slovan Bratislava Dominates Žilina: Analysis of the Match and Coach Weiss’s Surprising Comments

The Slovak football league could not have wished for more drama at the beginning of the spring season.

The two best teams in the table faced each other. The second Žilina as the best league team at home and the leader from Slovan as the best team on the opponent’s pitches. The average age of the young home team and the experienced visiting team was ten years apart.

After the general game with the Slovenian NK Bravo, which Slovan played as a replacement for the canceled duel by Slavia Prague, assistant coach Boris Kitka said that they were “not satisfied” with the transfers and that they “imagined it differently”.

However, coach Weiss surprised. Even though Slovan can no longer add any players to the roster for European matches and CEO Ivan Kmotrík Jr. is on vacation, the club is said to be continuing to work on improving the quality of the team.

“We haven’t finalized the squad yet. I believe we can do something else,” said Weiss in a televised interview before the match. That is why Slovan has not appeared before the media so far.

“We didn’t want to
