Czech basketball players will not be missing in Tokyo.

They will perform at the Olympics for the first time since 1980, when the joint Czechoslovak national team was still operating.
The Czechs will be in five rounds at the tournament, which will be played from July 25 to August 7, to fight in the basic A-group with the favored USA, France and Iran.
For the first time in history, Slovenian basketball players qualified for the Olympic tournament. In Sunday’s final of the 2020 qualification, they won 96:85 in Kaunas over their home Lithuania.
The historical success of the national team was directed by Dallas Mavericks star quarterback Luka Dončič, who scored a triple double of 31 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds. Slovenia will play in Tokyo in the basic C-group with Spain, Argentina and home Japan.
Lithuania entered the domestic tournament in the strongest line-up with NBA pivots Domantas Sabonis and Jonas Valančiunas, but in the end it had to come to terms with the fact that it will not perform under the five circles for the first time since the restoration of independence in 1990.
The Germans won the promotion from the tournament in Split, Croatia. In the decisive battle, they defeated the Brazilians 75:64. Moritz Wagner, who finished in the NBA for Orlando Magic last season, shone with 28 points.
The Italians who succeeded in the tournament in Belgrade also qualified for the 2020 Olympics. In the final, the Serbs defeated silver medalists 102: 95. The home team missed the tournament star Nikola Jokic from Denver Nuggets.
