Slovácko is not laying down its arms, even though it senses that the chances of advancement are small. At least a victory, Petržela wishes

“We know that after the 0:3 defeat in Turkey, we have very little hope of progressing. But we are not giving up yet, the ball is round. The weekend league win over Hradec has encouraged us, we want to at least fight for victory and please our great fans. And also help the Czech cup coefficient,” wishes Hradiště midfielder Milan Petržela.

According to him, it will be a big match for the entire region. “It is possible that the Fenerbahce players will underestimate us a little after the clear home triumph. It’s in their nature. They will definitely see each other in the next round. We should take advantage of that,” the experienced midfielder plans, alluding to the fact that the Turkish team will arrive in Uherské Hradiště from Brno, where the team is staying, only before the match without having trained at the local stadium.

Petržela, like some other senior players of Slovácko, did not start in the starting line-up on Sunday against Hradec (1:0). “The coach announced in advance that he would rotate the lineup. I prefer to play from the beginning, but the guys who replaced us did a great job. It is not at all easy to achieve good results on two fronts,” he realizes.

Slovácko coach Martin Svědík cannot count on the injured Havlík and the punished Hofmann. Reinberk’s health will only allow him to complete part of the encounter. “It will not be easy to replace Havlík in the middle of the pitch, for us he is an almost indispensable footballer at the moment. Mainly due to its complexity. We will deploy a lineup in which offensive players will prevail,” he revealed.

He expects a much more courageous and responsible performance from his team than last week in Istanbul. “We have to throw away respect, and especially in our sixteen, not to give opponents so much space. Of course, it would be ideal to score a quick lead right away. We are certainly not laying down our arms yet, but I will consider any solid result a success. The players have great determination,” says Svědík.

Around 160 fans will come to cheer on the Fenerbahce players. Hradišťský Stadium has a capacity of 7,500 spectators for this match. There are still several hundred tickets on sale.
