The previously announced resumption of SLM flights from Amsterdam to Paramaribo on Wednesday 20 July will not take place that day. It will now be a day later, on Thursday 21 July. The Surinamese airline Surinam Airways announced this in a press release on Tuesday.

The flight schedule is being adjusted in connection with unforeseen technical maintenance work on the aircraft that would be used on Wednesday, the company from Suriname reports.

Initially, the flight would be operated by Airhub Airlines. However, due to unforeseen technical maintenance work on the aircraft, the aircraft in question can no longer be used. To guarantee the operation, Surinam Airways has attracted GullivAir for this flight.

Due to a larger transport capacity of GullivAir (326 passengers), Surinam Airways will be able to transport several stranded passengers on this flight. GullivAir has also operated flights for Surinam Airways in the past. Due to the legally required rest period for the cabin crew of GullivAir, the flight from Paramaribo to Amsterdam will now be operated on Thursday 21 July.

The departure time of PY994 is now set for Thursday 21st July at 5am. Passengers are requested to register for check-in between 12am – 3am on Thursday 21st July.

“Surinam Airways thanks the traveling public for their understanding. The start-up of the operation has our highest priority in order to transport the stranded passengers to their destination as soon as possible,” the company said in the press release.
