music For the first time in five years, the iconic American metal band Slayer will soon be back on stage together. Out of the blue, the band members announce that they will headline two festivals in the United States. Who knows, maybe the rockers will want more and they will visit our country again afterwards.
In 2019, Slayer announced that the band would be calling it quits after a career spanning nearly four decades. Kerry King (59), Tom Araya (62), Gary Holt (59) and Paul Bostaph (59) said goodbye to their fans with a final tour, which also had a stop in Belgium. The American icons played their very last concert in the Benelux at Graspop that year. A visibly emotional Araya then closed the show by thanking the audience extensively. “We’re going to miss you.”
No matter how surprising it is: that loss is over after five years, for the American fans anyway. The four members of Slayer will appear in September this year as headliners at the Louder Than Life festival in Kentucky and at Riot Fest in Chicago. On their website However, they also seem to be teasing that the band will announce more news soon. “A new unholy gate. Coming soon,” it reads.

Fans of the thrash band had anything but expected this reunion. King announced a solo album ‘From Hell I Rise’ a few weeks ago. In an interview with Rolling Stone, he subsequently claimed that there was “almost a hundred percent certainty” that the band would perform together again.
