Sky-high prices, lower consumption and huge growth in solar panels: this is how we managed electricity in 2022

Wind turbines are also doing well, especially onshore ones. They produce almost 10% more electricity than in 2021, again because more turbines have been added. It was different for offshore wind farms. Despite a monthly record in February 2022, the total annual production fell slightly below that of 2021. No new wind turbines were added offshore and there was less wind than in 2021. The result: a decrease in the production of the 2%. But overall, the share of electricity from wind and solar rose from 16.7% in 2021 to 19.8% in 2022.
