Regarding the offers, Mr. Skrekas stated that “the three-month ban on promotional actions, that is, on product offers that have previously been repriced. It is another important measure that has prevented thousands of unjustified markups. This measure for the month of February has reduced the products, which rose in price by 80%.
The drastic measures to combat accuracy
For fresh products, he noted that the measure “net prices from the field to the shelf” which is also applied from March 1 is a measure that will also lead to reductions in the next period.
“We obliged all intermediaries who buy the products from the producer to the supermarket to sell on the invoices at net prices without discounts or service chargesn which ultimately blur the picture so that we can have transparency in the prices of the supply chain and control them much more easily for filthy lucre”, emphasized Mr. Skrekas.
“We are not complacent, nor do we say that we have solved the accuracy problem. The battle against punctuality is ongoing, but Greece has taken the most, the most drastic measures to deal with the problem”, underlined the minister.
