Škoda Octavia RS and Scout in new photos

The top performance of the Mladá Boleslav bestseller Octavia, marked RS, has not been shrouded in mystery for some time. However, now, just before journalists can touch it for the first time, the carmaker has shown the car in new photos.

We already know everything important about the car, so just in a nutshell: the petrol version, which will be the most attractive for enthusiastic drivers, will offer 245 horsepower, as well as the most powerful variant of the RS 245 in the third generation Octavia. It will be available with a dual-clutch and conventional manual transmission as well as an electronically controlled VAQ self-locking differential, which can actively transmit more torque to the outer front wheel.

Those interested in a 4×4 drive will have to settle for a diesel variant that offers exactly 200 horsepower. And now there is a third variant, a plug-in hybrid called RS iV. We have already had the honor with that in person.

“Cottage” Scout He also presented himself in several photographs, which emphasize in particular his field skills. While the RS version is reduced by 15 mm in addition to the hybrid for better aerodynamics and driving characteristics, the Scout has a chassis 15 mm higher to better handle the pitfalls of unpaved roads.

The Scout is offered exclusively as a station wagon. It also has all-wheel drive and Offroad driving mode, which adapts the behavior of the transmission and the 4×4 system, and also activates the assistant for descending steep hills. At the bottom, the Scout has protective plastics, but the bumpers are not very suitable for off-road driving.

The prices of these derivatives have also been known for a long time. The RS version starts at 889,900 crowns with a petrol engine and manual transmission. Turbodiesel costs CZK 899,900, but has a seven-speed two-clutch. In both cases, the station wagon is 40,000 more expensive.

In the case of the Scout, you will only find the most powerful two-liter TDI with 200 horsepower in the configurator on the carmaker’s website – the same engine as the RS TDI version. It will cost at least 926,900 crowns. At least 190k petrol and 150k diesel will be added to the offer, and both will probably be a bit cheaper.
