A music playlist for dogs
The car manufacturer is the first partner of Crufts, the largest dog show in the world, which took place from March 9 to 12 in Birmingham, England. It was on this occasion that Skoda presented the Happy Hounds playlist which is specially dedicated to dogs!
Made in association with Anna Webb, canine behaviorist for 20 years, the playlist compiles songs carefully chosen for their potential effects on dogs. The concept ? Play songs that match the tempo of the animal’s heartbeat.
The behaviorist explains: “Science believes that mimicking the heartbeat offers a calming effect. Small dogs and puppies normally have a heart rate of 120 to 160 beats per minute. The songs in the playlist work because they’re not heavy metal or similar genres known to disrupt dog sleep patterns. »
To familiarize dogs with this method of relaxation, Anna Webb recommends playing the playlist regularly before taking car trips.
Pieces to also please the masters
In the Skoda study, it was also shown that 75% of drivers were distracted when traveling with their pet. Which is understandable when you have an anxious dog in the car…
So in an attempt to support owners as well, the Happy Hounds playlist offers songs that will also appeal to pet owners!
