Fanny Smith did not double in Sweden. The Vaudoise finished second behind the regional stage, Sandra Naeslund. When she seemed in a good position to contest her victory, the Vaudoise made a small error at the bottom of the course.
Following this slight imbalance, it still managed to maintain a good second place a few lengths from the Nordic. In the general classification of the World Cup, Naeslund consolidates his first place ahead of Fanny Smith.
In addition to Fanny Smith, another Romande girl stood out. Sixtine Cousin finished in eighth place. After missing her semi-final (4th and last), the 20-year-old Genevan also finished last in the small final, when she had the opportunity to beat the best result of her career (7th at Arosa in 2018 ).
Like Fanny Smith, Ryan Regez had a more complicated Sunday. After coming back out of nowhere in his quarter-final, the Bernese did not manage to repeat the same performance in the final. He was beaten by German Daniel Bohnacker and Canadian Kevin Drury. The latter takes a step further ahead of the World Cup general ahead of Ryan Regez.
For his part, Vaudois Romain Détraz, 25th Saturday, fell heavily during his eighth final. Alex Fiva was eliminated in the quarterfinals, leaving Regez alone in the Top 8.
Winner on Saturday, Regez had to settle for a 3rd place this Sunday.
