Size comparison: iPhone 12 vs iPhone 11 Pro

For a long time Apple had stuck to the round design of the iPhone. In 2020, however, the new models should be angular again and remind of the iPhone 4 or iPhone 5s design. This paves the way for another change in the design language. But what will the models look like? In the past weeks and months, numerous renderings, technical drawings and 3D prints have surfaced that gave a rough outlook on the new devices – especially with regard to the sizes. Apple will be offering four models this year that will offer different functions and sizes. In addition to two low-end models with 5.4 “and 6.1” displays, there are again two Pro models with 6.1 “and 6.7” screens. This means that all devices grow in relation to the screen diagonals.

Dummies in the online shops

In the Israeli Apple community HaAppelistim (via 9to5Mac) recordings of dummy versions have now appeared, presumably from an accessory manufacturer. This is not uncommon and is part of the annual new product cycle. With the dummies, the manufacturers show their product innovations in advance in preparation for the iPhone. Accordingly, the focus of the dummy photos is also on the back, so that you cannot see the front or the speculated smaller camera notch, which Apple could reduce a bit.

In addition, the back does not reflect the actual iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro. This is particularly clear from the camera square. Compared to the iPhone 11 (Pro) it is unchanged, as this does not play a role for the accessory manufacturers in the production of the sleeves and cases. Therefore, there is no trace of the LiDAR sensor in the pictures, so that it is difficult to distinguish the dummy backs from the previous models.
