“In addition to getting vaccinated, it is essential that you accompany yourself with the other health measures that you already know,” he said.

City councils must ensure that the measures of the Anticipa Sonora Map are complied with

The municipalities must ensure that the restrictions contemplated by the Anticipa Sonora Map are met according to the level of risk in which each one is, to prevent the Covid-19 from continuing to spread, said Enrique Clausen Iberri.

At a press conference, the State Secretary of Health stressed that currently the average positivity at the state level of Coronavirus cases is at 38%.

That is, out of every 100 screening tests, 38 are positive, so it is essential that preventive actions are observed such as the use of face masks, healthy distance, hand hygiene and, above all, avoiding crowds.

“It is evident that there is a slow and gradual but consistent growth in the transmission of the virus. The relaxation of health protocols, especially the breaking of social distance, the incorrect use of face masks and crowds in closed places, explain the increase we are currently seeing in Covid-19 cases in Sonora ”, he stressed.

The state official stated that it is not advisable to resume massive activities, extend hours or capacity without the strict application and supervision of sanitary protocols since the advance of vaccination is insufficient to guarantee control of the epidemic.

The director of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention of the Ministry of Health, Gerardo Álvarez Hernández, commented that deaths in people vaccinated against the virus have occurred since many of these have risk factors that make them not respond favorably to vaccination, therefore, hygiene actions continue to be a fundamental factor of protection.

He said that if the trend of infections continues to rise in the entity, in the coming weeks Sonora could go back to orange, so it is very important to slow down the outbreak of Covid-19 through preventive actions against infections.

Marcos José Serrato Félix, director of the General Hospital of the State, stressed that currently the patients with Coronavirus that they receive in the institution are younger than those presented in previous months, where the age ranges from 18 to 42 years, so he said , the support of the population is needed so that health units are not saturated again with Covid-19 patients, since in addition to these, patients with other conditions are treated.

Also, María Concepción Félix Lares, state head of vaccination of the Ministry of Health, stressed that to date there are more than 300 thousand people in Sonora who have their complete scheme against Covid-19, more than 900 thousand doses received, which means that more than 30% of the population is vaccinated or has already started its scheme.

“We are working so that the Sonoran population receives their vaccine against the virus, which although it does not protect 100% from being infected, it does reduce the risk of dying from the virus,” he said.
