Six Colombians evacuated on a humanitarian flight from Ukraine arrived in Quito

A total of 203 Ecuadorians and six Colombians arrived in Quito this Saturday in the second humanitarian flight contracted by Ecuador to evacuate its compatriots who managed to escape the Russian invasion in Ukraine.

The second humanitarian flight organized by the Ecuadorian Government arrived at the “Mariscal Sucre” international airport at 10:20 local time (15:20 GMT), with 209 passengers. “Of these 203 are Ecuadorian citizens and 6 are Colombians”, in a gesture of solidarity with the neighboring country, detailed the Foreign Ministry.

“On this last flight, all the Ecuadorians who arrived in Warsaw, fleeing the war, left,” the Foreign Ministry pointed out.

The Ministry of Health carried out covid-19 tests at the airport and two were positive, it also vaccinated some passengers, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement in which it noted that the Civil Registry issued three certificates at the same site.

Citizens arrived this Saturday they are added to the 246 that arrived on Friday on the first flight contracted by Ecuador, in which three pets also disembarked: two dogs and a ferret.

On the flight this Saturday 42 pets arrived: 21 dogs, 12 cats in the hold and 9 cats in the cabin. The Vice President and Colombian Foreign Minister, Marta Lucía Ramírez, reported this Saturday that there are already 261 compatriots evacuated from Ukraine, ten of them in the last 24 hours.

Likewise, in the most recent report of the Diplomatic and Consular Mission in Poland, there are 34 Colombians staying in Warsaw, five in Krakow, one in Lubin and 13 in Hungary.

In addition, there are 12 nationals in the process of evacuation. The Foreign Ministry has a record of 293 Colombians in Ukraine.
