Situation report on the coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (06/15/2021)

Epidemiological report:

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), today 19,669 analyzes were carried out and 2,813 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected.

Of the 2,813 new cases, 1,261 are from Montevideo, 301 from Canelones, 190 from Paysandú, 174 from Maldonado, 133 from Salto, 99 from Colonia, 97 from San José, 82 from Tacuarembó, 65 from Artigas, 65 from Rocha, 63 from Soriano, 58 from Río Negro, 48 from Florida, 37 from Durazno, 34 from Cerro Largo, 34 from Lavalleja, 28 from Flores, 25 from Rivera and 19 from Treinta y Tres.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, 2,576,667 tests have been processed and 343,615 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total, 307,189 have already been recovered.

Today, 53 deaths with a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed in our country (table with detail is attached). So far, there are 5,089 deaths diagnosed with COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 31,337 active cases, that is, people who are suffering from the disease, 437 of them are in critical care centers.

Of the total confirmed positive cases, 8,258 correspond to health personnel. 7,929 of them have already recovered, 304 are suffering from the disease and 25 have died.

As of today, the 19 departments have active cases.

CLARIFICATION:

The total of confirmed positive cases until yesterday was 340,818. Today 2,813 new cases and a total of 343,615 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because, according to the MSP, 16 cases were eliminated.
