Situation report on coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (06/21/2021)

Epidemiological report:

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), 11,933 analyzes were carried out today and 1,539 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected.

Of the 1,539 new cases, 639 are from Montevideo, 225 from Canelones, 81 from Colonia, 81 from Paysandú, 66 from Salto, 64 from Maldonado, 51 from Artigas, 50 from San José, 48 from Florida, 42 from Tacuarembó, 36 from Cerro Largo, 33 from Rocha, 33 from Soriano, 21 from Lavalleja, 19 from Treinta y Tres, 16 from Rivera, 15 from Río Negro, 10 from Flores and 9 from Durazno.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, 2,676,296 tests have been processed and 356,382 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total, 326,871 have already been recovered.

Today 45 deaths with a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed in our country (table with detail is attached). So far, there are 5,316 deaths diagnosed with COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 24,195 active cases, that is, people who are suffering from the disease, 379 of them are in critical care centers.

Of the total of confirmed positive cases, 8,418 correspond to health personnel. 8,114 of them have already recovered, 276 are suffering from the disease and 28 have died.

As of today, the 19 departments have active cases.

CLARIFICATION:

The total of confirmed positive cases until yesterday was 354,865. Today 1,539 new cases and a total of 356,382 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because, according to the MSP, 22 cases were eliminated.
